Faith is Like a Seed

I’m So glad you’ve determined, that if God said that we must have faith; then he must of necessity provide clear enough instructions so that we can operate there. That was also my way of thinking. Godly wisdom is not hidden from those who love him but for those who love him. 1 Cor. 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.. A farmer goes out to a plot of ground. First he surveys it. Your heart is compared to that plot of ground. You must survey what’s down in their. Now determining on what he finds there; he decides skillfully what he must do. If the ground is full of rocks and weeds, he must till the soil turning it over and extracting those things that would severely impair the good seeds that he wants to plant.. Okay, as your hearing these things, what I want you to do is find out your choking point. Someone shares something with you, and of course after careful research; you find that it’s true, but it seems so impossible that you could ever achieve the faith to believe that God can change things in your life personally. Someone else, but not you. When the sower sows the word, depending upon what’s down in the ground of your heart; it can take some time before that seed is able to get down in there properly. Because of all the other things that have been occupying that place. Once again, thats why when you here the promises of God Initially, it can sound like, boy that’s just impossible! And the pure seed of the word of God has to fight through all of that and overcome it before it’s position in the ground of your heart is safe for it. This is why it took sooo long for Abraham and Sarah to receive the promised son. Sarah’s heart just kept rejecting that seed. But thank’s Be To God; as I said in a previous article; Abraham’s heart caught hold of that seed. It muscled it’s way through. Romans 4:16-21
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 17.( As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21. And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
The power of the word of God rooted out everything else that was sown previously into his heart. It then set down its own roots, and sprang up, and produced the son of the promise. Did you know when Mary received the words of the Angel what she said? “ Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” And the angel departed from her. Luke 1:38. The seed of that word didn’t have to fight at all. It went down into the ground of her heart. And the word became flesh a dwelt among us. John 1:14a. We see another example of one having difficulty with receiving the word, but praise God, he was able to bring it to pass. Look at Luke 1:18, speaking of Zechariah. God had good tidings for him. His wife who was barren and in old age would conceive a son; and he would be the Forerunner of Christ. The Angel Gabriel was dispatched to him like he was to Mary.
18. Zechariah said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. 19. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. 20. And behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. Wow! This was very difficult, so God moved in a miraculous way that kept the words that the angel spoke burning in his heart. That so indelibly imprinted on his mind that he said, “Elizabeth, we’re gonna have a child.”Lol of course he did it with a writing tablet. Let’s see how we can avoid that type of consequence? Although having an experience such as this might make it a little easier to stick with the word.( Let me go on to say, that in the Old Testament, God was very dynamic in his presentation of the word. He had to be because of so much darkness that surrounded the hearts and minds of men.) After such a magnificent display of the power of God with Moses, we see God speaking to Joshua in a different manner. Joshua 1:8 is what we use when we are preparing the ground of our hearts. But let’s start with verse 2. Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 5. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua saw the tangible miracle signs and wonders. But he also saw that Moses received the law. God wanted him to get his word inside of him so that it would grow and produce his success. It did. This was Israel’s greatest time, for the word of God was in full bloom in there hearts. What about you to day? You have read this article. If you, like the farmer till the ground, protecting the seed of God’s word, till you faith abounds. Then right where you are, Faith will bloom and grow. And a harvest of great blessing you will only know. In his service Minister Alberta Richard
